Apple has released upgrades for several of its devices today, as promised. iOS 16 first. iOS 11, first announced Apple June, is now available for iPhone 8 and subsequent devices, and it will be preinstalled on the new iPhone 14 models when they debut this Friday (aside from the iPhone 14 Plus which is getting a later release starting on October 7 – but it too will ship with iOS 16 on board).
Apple has also released iOS 15.7, which fixes various kernel vulnerabilities and security issues with Contacts, Maps, Safari, Shortcuts, and WebKit. iPadOS 15.7 is coming out with the same fixes, and it may be the final 15.x branch update before iPadOS 16 – this was delayed owing to Stage Manager multitasking concerns. Apple acknowledged the delay, and iPadOS 16.1 may arrive next month.

It’s best to perform a few housekeeping tasks before setting up significant updates: It will spare you any additional headaches if something goes wrong.
After finishing all of that, check to see if your iPhone is charged and connected to a reliable Wi-Fi network. The former will make sure that your phone doesn’t run out of juice while the latter will hasten the installation. How to install iOS 16 is as follows:
Let your iPhone handle the rest of the work from this point on. To finish the installation process, you might be prompted to authorise your iPhone restarting. If you miss the prompt, however, your iPhone should restart on its own.
